Knotty
Boy Natural Dreadlock Shampoos are specifically formulated for people
with dreadlocks, working to prevent and combat the problems sometimes
encountered during the dreadlocking process and thereafter. From a healthy
scalp will grow healthy dreads, so Knotty Boy is working hard to dispel the
widespread myth that all dreadlocks are dirty.
Dreadlocks, just like
braids, cornrows, and any other hairstyle, need to be washed regularly to keep
them clean. There is no reason why dreadlocks should ever be dirty or smelly as
long as one has access to fresh, clean water and shampoo!
Both Knotty Boy
Natural Dreadlock Shampoos are made traditionally in small batches from
scratch, using saponified vegetable and organic essential oils only. Both clean
like nature intended, without any harsh cleansers or foaming agents which
create artificial levels of suds simply for consumer appeal. Because of the
lack of chemical additives, softeners and conditioners, these truly natural
shampoos are ideal for keeping dreadlocks and scalps sparkly clean, without
hindering the locking process or irritating sensitive scalps or
skin.
So which one do I
choose?
Whichever you prefer!
Both shampoos will deliver the same sweet-smelling, dreadlock cleansing
results, only one is in a bar form and the other is liquid!
Some prefer the
shampoo bar as it is very travel-friendly, lightweight and more foamy than the
liquid shampoo. The liquid is the more conventional form for shampoo (big 8oz
bottle), easy to use and its powerful minty scent will keep you smelling fresh
for hours. The choice is up to you, or try both!
Product
Description:
The natural and
essential oils used in these formulations are extremely beneficial for hair and
scalp health. Knotty Boy Natural Dreadlock Shampoos gently cleanse, allowing
the hair to retain nutrients and moisture, while the rosemary, tea tree and
peppermint essential oils work therapeutically to treat and prevent dry scalp,
dandruff and other skin and scalp irritations.
Use
anywhere you need a good scrub - also proven to be effective in the treatment
of problem skin and acne, and as an all-over body wash.
Ingredients:
Saponified Organic
Oils of Palm, Coconut, Castor Bean and Hemp, and Organic Essential Oils of
Rosemary, Peppermint and Tea Tree
Directions
for Shampoo Bar:
Unwrap the bar,
breathe in the icy-fresh pep-o-minty scent, strip yer nekkid self down and hop
in the tub. Wet hair and get the 'poo bar wet, too. It becomes very foamy just
like a bar of soap, so you can either work up a good, thick lather in your
hands and scrub it onto your scalp, or you can rub the bar directly on your
scalp and work up a lather that way.
Once you've done that,
get down to the scalp with your fingertips and give it a thorough, but gentle
scrub. Let the essential oils get in there and do their thing for 2 or 3
minutes, too. Then, allow the shampoo to rinse through the dreads, thereby
cleaning them without handling them too much. This is the best way to clean
new, still-soft dreads without damaging all that hard work you've put into
them. Rinse and repeat as necessary - you will be able to feel how
squeaky-clean your scalp is after its been rinsed, and where you need to
shampoo again.
Directions for Liquid
Shampoo:
Pop
the cap on the bottle, breathe in the icy-fresh pep-o-minty scent. Wet hair and
pour a bit of the shampoo into the palm of your hand. Apply to the scalp and
spread evenly around, working it down to the scalp with your fingertips and
giving it a thorough, but gentle scrub.
Apply more as needed
in order to cover entire scalp - remember, a little goes a long way. Let
the essential oils get in there and do their thing for 2 or 3 minutes. Then,
allow the shampoo to rinse through the dreads, thereby cleaning them without
handling them too much.

to clean new, still-soft dreads without damaging all that hard work you've put
into them. Rinse and repeat as necessary - you will be able to feel how
